We have 3 Year 1 classes plus an independent learning room where the children can access ICT, role play, sand and water, etc. There are 30 children in each class. The teachers plan together and all Year 1 teaching resources are shared by all.
Collection of children
Year 1 teachers will escort their class to their collection point, and ensure each child is handed over to a parent or carer. Pupils who are not collected will remain with the teacher until suitable collection is organised.
If there is a change to the routine, or a different person is collecting the pupil, please let the class teacher or school secretary know. If arrangements are changed during the day, parents are asked to telephone the school office with the details of the new arrangements.
Themed Approach to Learning
We will continue to work thorough a themed approach to learning where possible. On occasions, Science, Religious Education, PE, PSHE, Music and Drama will be taught as separate lessons but, where possible, links to the theme will be made - please see the year group's termly newsletter below.
