Start of the day

Children are welcome into the classrooms from 8.30 a.m. For Health and Safety reasons, children are not allowed onto the premises before this time. It is expected that parents will remain with their children outside the gates until they are opened. No child should be left unattended and all children should be accompanied all the way to the school gate. Year One and Two children enter at the double gates of the large playground and Early Years children enter at the middle gate. Teaching Assistants will greet the children at each gate. A prompt start to the day helps the children to be settled and ready for learning. Please support us in this by ensuring that your child arrives on time.

End of the day

The school day ends at 3.00p.m. Please come onto the playground to meet children from Early Years and Year One.  Year Two children are to be collected from the middle and main pedestrian entrances to the school. We would appreciate it if you could stand well back from the school building, as this allows the children to see the adult that is collecting them. We are responsible for the well being of all children whilst they are on the school premises and we therefore request that an up-to-date list is provided for the class teacher, detailing who is allowed to collect your child. We will not allow any child to leave until the appropriate adult has been identified. It is important that if someone different is collecting your child, the school is notified of this change; otherwise we will have to check with you before we allow your child to leave. The children go one at a time so that we can ensure their safety. This can take a few minutes, so we value your patience. Please help us by making yourself clearly visible when you see your child. Children who have not been collected will stay with their teacher. They will then be taken to the office to wait. It is important that all parents are waiting at 3.00p.m, as lateness can cause upset to the children. The Nature trail, bank area and climbing equipment should not be used by any children at the end of the day.

Parking on site is extremely limited and, for the safety of our families, vehicular access, at the start and end of the day is limited by permit.  If you wish to apply for a permit, please collect an application letter from the school office.

Lunchtimes and Playtimes

We aim to make the lunchtime a happy part of the children’s day in school. Lunchtime supervisors are given regular training appropriate to their important role.

Hot School Meals

All children have the option of Hot School Meals. Please visit our School Meals page for more information.

Packed Lunches

Please help us achieve a happy lunch break for your child by doing the following:-

* Mark the base of the lunch box clearly with your child’s name and class.

* Unbreakable flasks are ideal for bringing drinks to school. No glass bottles or fizzy drinks, please.

* No sweets.

* We have the ‘Healthy Schools Plus’ award and we encourage you to support us in this by providing a healthy balanced diet.

* Children will be provided with a healthy snack of fruit or vegetables at mid morning break.
